neXat’s satcom management platform has won the World Teleport Association (WTA)’s Teleport Technology of the Year award at SATELLITE2025. The award recognises organizations whose technology has contributed to the business and operational success of teleports through lower costs, increased efficiency, new capabilities or access to new markets.
The neXat® virtualized OSS-BSS (Operations and Business Support Services) platform is the first and only satellite specific, cloud-based platform of its kind on the market. It integrates different hubs, simplifying operations, and brings multiple operational and business support systems together in one place to save operators time and money. neXat can also be used to offer customers new and better services, including improved traffic shaping, bandwidth optimization, VNO services, and more.
“We are redefining the way the satcom industry manages complex satellite-based networks through the advanced and unique capabilities of our platform”, said neXat CCO Michel Dothey, who accepted the award at the WTA Luncheon. “This is a platform madefor the satellite industry by satellite experts, and we’re incredibly happy forour work and innovation to be recognized by our peers through a prestigiousaward programme at satellite’s biggest event of the year”.
In 2024, major satellite operator Arabsat signed a deal to deploy neXat across its fleet and launch multicontinental managed satellite services. The platform enables Arabsat to centralize the management of multiple hubs, reducing operational overhead, and accelerating service rollout. neXat’s technology has also been trusted by GMV and the European Union Agency for Space Programme (EUSPA) on projects to improve access to critical communications services.
“We have designed the platform to face the changing market environment faced by operators and caused by rapidly growing LEO constellations and the shift towards virtualization”, said Mr. Dothey. “Operators need the ability to react quickly to market changes, whether rolling out new services or adjusting operations. Our OPEX-based model allows for our platform to be installed with low-risk, and automatic updates futureproof operations by ensuring compatibility with new and expected technologies.”
Operators can use the platform to provision, monitor, control, manage, and bill entire satcom networks, regardless of hub technology, earth orbit or satellite frequency band, via a user-friendly interface. Through the integration of their hub, operators’ capabilities can be extended to offer additional services without having to buy extra features like traffic shapers or several software modules.
neXat continuously updates the platform for compatibility with the latest technologies. It is currently integrating the MEF and TM Forum API in order for teleport operators to be compatible with both terrestrial networks but also with the large satellite operators that are currently implementing the open standards in the industry.
